Two weekends ago the Hardcourt Bicycle Polo Federation World Championships were held here in Philadelphia. The each member of the second place team was awarded a set of handbuilt wheels specifically designed for bike polo. The wheels were paired with wheel covers painted by local artists. Players cover one or both wheels to protect the spokes from the ball, mallets, or other bikes. I had the pleasure of painting a set. Check 'em out below.
