"Keep It Up"

We're all slowly getting older, some of us more so than others.  There are certain things in life that help us to keep the aging process at bay.  Here's a little reminder to hang on to the things that you love.  As soon as all the snow outside is gone, I'll be rolling on four wheels again.

Limited edition of 50 pieces, 3 colors hand screen printed on purple Poptone French Paper, signed and numbered.

Available for purchase on Etsy.

Lumberjack Preview

I've gotten into the brass tacks of the first couple paintings in my blue collar worker series.  Here's a little preview of the Lumberjack.  Thanks to my friend Paul for helping me realize the glory of the spray bottle.  Sorry for the poor image quality, snapped it in a hurry on the way out the door.

Patterns for Backgrounds

I'm preparing to start a series of paintings that is somewhat ambitious for me.  They are going to be 2 x 4 feet, which is larger than I've ever worked, and being that I've never been formally trained in painting it's somewhat intimidating.  Viva la fear!  I'm not sure if that even makes sense.

The paintings are going to be of blue collar workers in my character style.  For the backgrounds I'm planning on screen printing a custom repeat pattern.  Each character will have his own pattern with imagery taken from or inspired by his profession.  Here are a few that I've recently finished, but still working on the color schemes.  (Note, I've cropped them down so they won't actually repeat cleanly if you download them.)

Stay tuned for more updates and progress photos.

"Snow Day"

I finished a new print last night that I'm calling Snow Day (because I can't come up with anything more clever).  It's a three color screen print that measures 12" x 19", printed on Canson paper.  It's an edition of 50.

I have plans to continue screen printing, so keep an eye out for more and better stuff.
