Open Studio Tonight

The grand opening of the new Part Time Studios is tonight!  We'd love to see everyone come out.  Beer from Philadelphie Brewing Co., pretzels from the bakery next door, local donuts...if you don't like the art, you will at least like the snacks.

I will have a lot of new work in the show.  Here's one of my favorites.

"Crew Neck, V Neck" - Acrylic on found paper, 4"x7".

"Nice Day for a Walk" & "A Pretty Good Place to Be"

I finished these two paintings about a week ago, but I've just now gotten around to photographing them.  They're both 12" x 12", acrylic on wood.

New Studio!

I share studio space with a group of friends.  Our crew just moved into a brand new space on Frankford Ave. in Philadelphia in the middle of a very up-and-coming arts corridor.  It has a storefront so we will be running a small gallery as well.  Here are a few photos from the very early stages of organizing and a couple of my personal space almost finished.  By the way, are looking for one more person to join us.  If you think you might fit the bill please get in touch.

A Freebie

I've always been attracted to repeat patterns.  So beautiful, so intricate, so....repeatable.  So here's my first experiment making my own repeat pattern.  I actually made this a couple months ago before my old computer was stolen and unfortunately this slightly pixelated copy is the only one I have.  Feel free to download this to use as your computer desktop.  I'll be trying to make some more, less pixelated, repeats in the future.

"The Bright Promise"

Last month I posted about cutting tiny letters from a brass sheet with a jeweler's saw.  Here's the finished piece that those letters went into.  I'm very happy with this piece and I feel like it's a good step forward.
